About The Recipe

Let’s talk business… AKA coffee with THC/CBD Oil. This isn't just about making coffee; it's about creating a comforting elixir for those anxious mornings, busy days, or moments when your thoughts are clouded. Imagine a steaming cup, enriched with the therapeutic effects of cannabis, ready to bring a sense of calm to your daily ritual.

Now, let's chat about the dynamic duo: THC, renowned for its euphoric vibes, and CBD, celebrated for its soothing properties. Understanding these cannabinoids is key to tailoring your coffee experience. So, whether you're craving a gentle lift or a serene pause, join me in discovering the perfect blend of THC and CBD to add a touch of tranquility to your coffee routine.

Coffee and Weed?

Infusing cannabis into coffee introduces a delightful synergy that combines the invigorating effects of caffeine with the therapeutic properties of cannabinoids. The process typically involves incorporating THC or CBD oil into your coffee, enhancing the beverage with a nuanced and calming touch. THC, known for its euphoric effects, can offer a gentle lift to combat morning jitters, while CBD's soothing properties contribute to a sense of relaxation.

This concept isn't entirely new, having roots in the evolution of cannabis-infused beverages and the increasing popularity of alternative consumption methods. While pre-made cannabis-infused coffee products are not as ubiquitous as traditional options, there are regions and establishments, especially in areas with legal cannabis markets, where you can find ready-made versions. The intersection of cannabis and coffee represents a fascinating frontier in culinary exploration, inviting enthusiasts to craft their own unique blends and embrace the delightful union of two beloved rituals.

Features

  • Familiarity and Convenience: Coffee, a daily ritual for many, serves as a familiar and convenient carrier for cannabis, seamlessly integrating the therapeutic effects into established routines.
  • Balanced Energy Boost: The pairing of caffeine in coffee with the invigorating effects of THC creates a harmonious and sustained energy boost, offering a gentle lift without the potential jitters or crashes associated with alternative methods.
  • Customizable Experience: Coffee's versatility allows for a tailored cannabis experience, providing users the control to adjust THC or CBD dosage based on personal preferences and needs, making it an accessible option for a range of desired effects.

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Coffee: I personally have a Nespresso machine so I use Starbucks coffee pods to make single or double shot espressos. You can also just use regular drip coffee or even instant coffee powder.
  • Milk: This recipe will work with any type of dairy free milk or even regular cow’s milk. I’ve tried it with coconut milk, oat milk, cashew milk and the list goes on! As long as the milk / mylk you’re choosing to use has a percentage of fat content, the cannabinoids will bind to the infusion. Typically the fattier the better, but if you’re fine with losing out a little bit on absorption, any fat will do you just fine. My motto is to always do what works best for you. Just because there’s a “best way” to do something, doesn’t mean you have to follow it.

TIPS & TRICKS

  • Investing in an electric milk frother like this one from Bodum has been one of my best kitchen decisions ever! I use my Bodum everyday, even for non-cannabis infused drinks. It’s relatively inexpensive and lasts a long time, and is easy to clean. I much prefer electric frothers than electric whisks because almost all the electric whisks I’ve tried always end up splattering my liquids all over the place.

FAQ

Q: Can I use a different type of milk instead of oat milk?

A: Yes, you can use any milk or milk alternative of your choice, such as almond, coconut, or regular dairy milk. However, using a milk with some fat content (like oat or coconut milk) helps the cannabis oil blend more effectively for better absorption.

Q: How strong will the cannabis-infused espresso be?

A: The potency of the drink depends on the concentration of the cannabis oil you use. If you're unsure of the strength, start with a smaller dose of cannabis oil and gradually increase in future servings based on your tolerance.

Q: Can I make this recipe without a frother?

A: Yes, if you don't have a frother, you can whisk the milk and cannabis oil by hand, although the texture may not be as smooth and frothy. Alternatively, heating the milk slightly and shaking it in a jar can also create some froth.

Step 1: Calculate Potency For Your Infusion

Calculate total batch potency by entering product weight (grams), THC/THCA percentage, and CBD/CBDA percentage. Get total THC and CBD in milligrams (mg) for dosing.

(flower, wax, oil, etc)

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, while THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is its non-psychoactive precursor found in raw cannabis

CBD (cannabidiol) is a psychoactive compound in cannabis known for its potential therapeutic benefits, while CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the precursor to CBD found in raw cannabis, which needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to become CBD with active properties.

(ie. butter, olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, alcohol)

Step 2: Calculate Potency Of Each Serving/Edible

Determine the potency per serving in your recipe by specifying the number of tablespoons of oil and the total servings. This calculation will yield the milligrams (mg) of THC and CBD in the entire recipe, as well as the amount per serving.
